Sightseeing.co.uk
When people visit Sightseeing.co.uk, I want them to be able to just 'see' what to do, rather than having to actually read anything.
A MySQL database sits behind the site, and postcodes, part-postcodes, town, city and locality names are fed in. These are geocoded, and then the results are delivered based on proximity. All this happens in a tiny fraction of a second.
UKShopSearch.com
This site is part of a family websites geared toward the UK Internet user. Other sites within the family focus on UK jobs, UK hotels, UK serviced offices, car insurance and UK TV listings.
I built UKShopSearch.com from the ground up using MySQL and Perl for the backend on a Linux platform. I designed the site to be simple and easy to navigate despite the wealth of data it contains.
